Kyambura Gorge Lodge is located in Queen Elizabeth National Park, west of Uganda. The stunning lodge was converted from an old coffee store to a luxurious lodge for one to experience untold comfort in the wilderness. Kyambura Gorge Lodge comprises of eight luxury bandas built in a mixture of traditional style. Four of them are deluxe with en suite luxury showers with hot running water and flash toilets. Activities at Kyambura Gorge Lodge
Chimpanzee trekking. The primary activity at Kyambura Gorge is Chimpanzee trekking. The activity normally takes 3-4 hours depending on the location and movement of chimpanzees. Kindly note that children under the age of 15 years will not be allowed to trek chimpanzees.
Game drives. Queen Elizabeth National Park is home to several wildlife species. You can explore wildlife on a game drive or boat. The best time for wildlife watching is in the morning and late afternoon when animals are more concentrated around the park.
Boat cruise. The most famous boat cruise at Queen Elizabeth is along the Kazinga Channel that joins Lake George and Lake Edward. The channel is streamlined with a lot of wildlife especially in the afternoon hours. Some of these include elephants, warthogs, antelopes and crocodiles, hippos and water birds among the rest.
Getting There
Queen Elizabeth National Park can be reached within a 5 – 6 hours drive from Kampala or Entebbe. You can also take a chartered flight to the park to Mweya Airstrip in the park from Entebbe International Airport or Kajjansi Airfield.
Best time to visit
Queen Elizabeth National Park can be visited all year round but some months are obviously better than the rest. These months are June through August and December through February when the vegetation is not thick, making it easy to spot wildlife.
