Kibale Forest Camp is one of the best mid-range accommodation options while at Kibale Forest National Park. The lodge belongs to Nature Lodges Uganda. Kibale Forest Camp is located at the edge of Kibale Forest National Park bordering Magombe swamp known to be part of the Bigodi Wetland System on the other side. It’s also located just 10 minutes where you Uganda chimpanzee trekking journey starts from.

Accommodation at Kibale Forest Camp is provided in 12 en suite safari tents tucked in the lush green forest to give you a real jungle experience. There are 9 non self contained tents placed under a grass thatched roof with power outlets and comfortable beds, towels, beddings, shared bathroom and toilet facilities. There is also a lazy camping option for budget travelers.
The restaurant serves delicious 2 course meals for lunch and 4 course dinner meals ranging from local and international cuisine dishes. Dietary requirements can be catered for with prior notice. The bar serves local and international drinks as well.

Each room has got an en suite bathroom with hot and cold running water, a flush toilet and a private veranda where you can spot some monkeys from. You can order for coffee or tea with your early wake up call.
Activities at Kibale Forest Camp
Chimpanzee Tracking. Chimpanzee tracking is the primary tourist activity in Kibale Forest National Park. The chances of seeing chimpanzees here is over 95 percent. Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest normally starts early morning or afternoon time and takes 2-3 hours. Apart from chimpanzees, you will also spot various species of birds and primates like black and white colobus monkeys, red colobus monkeys, mangabeys and olive baboons among the rest.

Chimpanzee habituation. For primate lovers who would love to spend more time with chimpanzees, habituation is the best option compared to the normal tracking as you get to spend more time with chimpanzees in their natural habitat. You will be privileged to join researchers and rangers in their daily work of habituation, which normally takes a full day.
Birding. Kibale Forest National Park is home to over 325 species of birds. 6 of these species are endemic to the albertine region. The best place for bird watching is in the forest or Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. Some of the common birds seen include the purple breasted sunbird, yellow spotted nicator, little greenbul, black bee eater, brown chested aleth, dusky crimson wing, green breasted pitta, blue breasted kingfisher, black capped apalis and African pitta among the rest.
