Chobe Safari Lodge

Murchison falls national park formerly known as Kabalega national park is situated in the North western of Uganda, the name of park was changed by Sir Samuel Baker in 1964 naming its after Sir Roderick Murchison who was the president of Britain’s royal geographical society by that time.

The park is endowed with 76 species of mammals, 451 species of birds, chimpanzees at the neighbouring Bundongo forest and so much more. There are  a lot of activities you can engage in while at Murchison like wildlife viewing, nature walks, chimpanzee trekking, bird watching and so much more.

Chobe safari lodge is one of the best lodges in Uganda, the five star hotel is situated in Murchison falls national park overlooking the great river Nile. The lodge is one of the oldest in Uganda constructed in 1950s making it one of the country’s priceless tourism destinations.

The lodge offers great panoramic views of the Nile, wildlife, birdlife, flora and fauna. Accommodation at the lodge is provided in 36 spacious elegant guest rooms, 21 luxury tents, 4 suites and a presidential cottage. All this rooms provide sweeping views of the Nile from private balconies.

Chobe safari lodge also has the state of art conference room that can host up to 100 guests and it’s well equipped with all business requirements. The swimming pool is separated in 3 tiers with stunning sunset views and the Nile. The bar is situated in the central part of the lodge facing the terrace and the river Nile; they serve a variety of drinks ranging from soft to hard drinks.

The dining serves both local and international cuisine meals coupled with local traditional dances in the evening. The health spa and club are located on top of the 3-tier pool offering a range of therapies the perfect thing you will need after a long day at Murchison falls.

There is also a business centre to cater for business oriented travellers open from 8am to 8pm 7 days a week, you can have access to internet 24 hours and printing and photocopy is also provided. There’s also a gift shop selling local handmade crafts you can buy for your loved ones at home or use as souvenirs.

How to get there

Murchison River lodge can be accessed within 4hours drive from Kampala, its located 305 kilometres from Kampala. Tourists who don’t fancy long journeys can use standard chartered flights from Entebbe airstrip or Kajjansi airfield.
