Bushara island camp is located on a private island in Lake Bunyonyi, the hotel provides accommodation in self contained rooms with comfortable beds with some rooms having a private patio or balcony where you can with views of the magnificent lake Bunyonyi.
There’s always a boat waiting on mainland to drop you to the hotel and the staff on the other side will warmly welcome you with a drink to start your stay at lake Bunyonyi. Accommodation is provided in 8 safari tents built with African materials and Kingfisher family cottage to suite people traveling in groups of 4-6 people or families. There are also 2 pitta cottages containing 1 queen bed and 1 single bed. They also have a camping ground with shares toilets to cater for budget travelers.

Akampene island
Akampene island also known as punishment island is a small island in the lake where young unmarried pregnant girls where left to starve and die but this practice got abandoned in the half of 20th century. A man without cows to pay for bride price would sometimes go to pick the girl from the island.
Bwama and Njuyeera island (sharp’s island)
This island also known as Sharp’s island named after Leonard sharp an English missionary who visited Uganda in 1921 and later built a leprosy treatment center on this particular island. Sharp settled on the island and built a small house now know as The white house hotel. You can visit this island and learn more about Sharp and his work in Uganda.
