Detailed 4-Day Simien Mountains Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival to Bale Mountains

On your arrival to Goba airport, meet your guide and take a drive to the Bale Mountains National Park Headquarters.

Following that, our journey will pass through Park H.Q., where we may see and see endemic/endangered mammals such as: Menilik’sBuchbuck, Mountain Nyala, Warthog, Reedbuck, Gray Duikers and Baboons.

Also Ethiopian endemic birds such as: Black-headed siskin, Wattled Ibis, and Abyssinian cat bird which all will be found in juniper woodlands of Bale Mountains HQ.

Overnight at Dinsho Campsite.3100masl.

Day 2: Trek Dinsho to Sodota Campsite

Morning after breakfasts begin our hike to Sodota which is about 18km long.

From Dinsho, hike through the breathtaking Web Valley scenery to the FinchaHabera waterfall, which marks the confluence of the Web and Wolla rivers.

Here is where we can see the rare Ethiopian wolf, as well as raptors and rock hyrax, and endemic birds such as: Blue Winged Goose.

This will surely leave you excited and in awe of the actual wilderness of Bale mountains.

On arrival at the campsite you will have nice coffee/tea break.

Overnight Sodota Campsite 3500masl.

Day 3. Trek Sodota to wasema

Hike to Wasama offers breathtaking views while traversing a lovely area.

Travel through the Mararo Valley, home of nesting Lammergeyer and Verraux Eagles.

There will also be an opportunity to view a variety of birds and the Ethiopian wolf.

About six to seven hours of hiking.

Overnight Wasema Campsite at a b 3900masl.

Day 4: Trekking to sanneti Plateau

Hike through Wasama to start the day, and then descend into Worgona Valley.

There will be sightings of falcons, raptors, and possibly the Ethiopian wolf.

Travel through breathtaking Afro-alpine Moor area, breathtaking untamed alpine landscapes, and lakes with a plateau location.

A seven to eight-hour walk is required.

Overnight Sanneti Campsite. 4100amsl.

Day 5: Drive to Harenna Forest

After breakfast Meet the vehicle at the camp and drive towards the second tropical rain forest in the nation is called Harenna Forest.

Along the route, there will be opportunities to view the rare and endangered Ethiopian Wolf, the Abyssinian Hare, and many waterfowl, including Wattled Crane, Blue-winged Goose, and Ruddy shell duck.

Then after take a hike in the forest to water fall and Bamboo trail.

The endemic Bale Monkey will be seen in the area and numerous bird species.

Day 6: Transfer to Airport for your flight to Addis

Transfer service to Airport for your flight of Addis.
