3 Days Bonobo Chimpanzees Trekking tour is best done in two places – Lola Ya Bonobo and Ekolo Ya Bonobo all found in D.R. Congo. This country is well known for primate species therefore these 3 days tour will take you to one of the amazing primates – the bonobos. Bonobos are human-like creatures, that you are not supposed to miss visiting while on your safari to DRC. This safari will start and end from the heart of DRC Kinshasa.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Drive from Kinshasa to Lola Ya bonobo
After delicious breakfast, your driver guide will brief you about the tour and share with you more information about the Democratic Republic of Congo, then continue with the journey to Lola Ya Bonobo.
The transfer will take about one or one and a half hours’ drive to get to the destination where bonobos are habituated. Depending on the time of arrival, you can opt to do a nature walk around or relax at the lodge waiting for next day’s activity – bonobo trekking.
Day 2: Bonobo trekking adventure
On this second day of your safari, begin with an early breakfast, then drive to the Lola Ya bonobo sanctuary for an unforgettable bonobo trekking experience. Get a chance to spot and watch bonobos feeding, grooming each other, infants playing and the care that mothers / females give their infants.
You are provided with only 3 to 4 four hours to be spent with these amazing great apes. Retreat to the lodge for lunch and relax with an optional activity.
Day 3: Second day of bonobo trekking and fly back home.
On this day, it will be your last day of the safari and begin it immediately after breakfast. You will drive back to the sanctuary for second and last chance of trekking bonobos in their semi-natural environment as you try to ask and understand more about these primates, take photos, have fun with them and later drive back to the lodge for lunch. Prepare for checkout. Your driver guide will drop you back at the lodge in Kinshasa for dinner and stay as you wait for your departure flight depending on your schedule.
