Detailed safari.

Day 1: Pick up from Kigali, Rwanda to Kahuzi-Biega NP

Our company driver guide will meet you at Kigali international airport and lead you to the ideal 7-days tour of Congo and Kenya through the Republic of Rwanda. Begin your five to six-hour journey to Congo after all your travel paperwork is checked. Enroute, you will stop at Nyanza Palace to learn more about Rwanda’s history and cultural offerings.

After clearance at the border crossing between Rwanda and Congo, you will then continue your drive to Bukavu city. As you will arrive at your lodge late in the day for dinner and a pleasant night stay.

Day 2: Lowland gorilla trekking

You will eat a substantial breakfast at dawn before heading to the park headquarters to register and receive a pre-trek briefing. Many people’s dreams of seeing lowland gorillas will come true. Only situated on the African continent, gorillas share 98% of their DNA with humans. The 30-minute pre-trekking session includes an explanation of the trekking dos and don’ts from the ranger guides. An hour to eight hours is spent trekking across the areas where the latest ape sightings occurred.

It’s a trip into the forest where there’s a chance to see other monkeys, birds, and other wildlife. Don’t forget to look for other kinds of forest plants, too. After finding the apes, you will have an hour to take pictures and get up close to see your cousins eat, play, and sing.

Eat lunch in the jungles, before coming back to the lodge for refreshments, dinner, and a well-deserved sleep.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kigali and fly to Kenya

Very early in the morning is when today begins. After a delectable breakfast, you will rise and depart the lodge for the 5-6 hours trip to Kigali, Rwanda. Have lunch in Kigali before taking an onward flight to Nairobi, Kenya, where a representative of our company will be happy to greet and give you a tour around the city and drive you to your hotel for refreshments, super, and a restful evening.

Day 4: Nairobi to Masai Mara NR

Our driver guide will pick you up from the hotel after a hearty breakfast and take you to the Masai Mara reserve. However, a briefing on what to expect in Kenya and what you need to know will come first. It is a road excursion that passes through rural areas with beautiful views of the scenery, scatted homesteads, and plantations.

Make a stopover in the gorgeous Great Rift Valley, where you can practice your photography skills among other things. Eat lunch enroute, arriving at the late evening for dinner and night sleep.

Day 5: Full day Game drive

You will eat a substantial breakfast at the lodge at dawn, followed by a 3–4-hour game drive across the park’s savannah region. Even if you may have a lengthy wish list, luck—the chance to come across prey and predators-should always be considered. Lions, leopards, buffaloes, zebras, warthogs, impalas, wildebeests, rhinos, and other creatures can be seen in the park, among others. The other enjoyable experience will be taking in the breathtaking Maasai scenery.

After a picnic lunch break, you’ll spend the rest of the afternoon and evening watching the wildlife around the Mara River, which is the focal point of the yearly wildebeest migration. You will return to the lodge following your day’s activities for dinner, a campfire experience, and sleep.

Day 6: Birdwatching and afternoon cultural tours

At dawn, you’ll enjoy a delectable breakfast at the lodge before departing for an enjoyable birdwatching excursion around the specified locations. The greatest time to go bird watching is in the morning, when the birds can be seen near marshes and other densely vegetated areas. Over 470 different bird species can be found in the Masai Mara, with about 47 of them being predators. Ostriches, sunbirds, ground hornbills, secretary birds, flocks of crowned cranes, saddle-billed storks, Grey herons, great white egrets, Madagascar squacco, pygmy falcons, and other animals are among the things to keep an eye out for. The bird watching session will take place in the morning, followed by lunch.

After lunch, you will go on a rewarding cultural tour, visiting the Masai warriors where you will be entertained by traditional songs, watch the local manyattas, do the Jumping dance moves and more. It is a typical interaction and understanding of what transpires in the local communities before calling it a day, and ending for dinner and a peaceful nap.

Day 7: End of safari

Check out of the lodge following a mouthwatering breakfast and go on a scenic drive back to Nairobi or any other designated drop-off location. There will be scenic stopovers and lunch stop along the way.
